Ray,

You had made a comment about trying to capture what was written on the borad for your students so that they can download. Take a look at scanR http://www.scanr.com/

You take a picture with your camera phone or digital camera and it converts it to a pdf. I thought this might fit your needs.

I just wanted to let y'all know that I really enjoyed this episode, especially the education section. I'm not a teacher or anything but I did enjoy hearing about the new ideas and teaching methods y'all are thinking of using.

Concerning taking notes, when I was in high school I was blessed with a mind that responded well to lectures so note taking wasn't that critical for me. However, I still took notes as a way of reinforcing what I was hearing. I think there are a number of kids that do that. They don't take the notes because they need the notes but they use it as a memory reinforcer. The people that will benefit the most from having the notes prepared ahead of time are those anal, over-achieving types that think they have to write down every word the teacher says.
